The simple ritual of Forgiveness

Updated: Dec 8, 2022

Why unconditional forgiveness is the key to claiming back your energetic sovereignty and the 10 step ritual to help you do it.

The idea of forgiveness for the most part, is that we move on and let go of a past pain, trauma or inconvenience that has come up in our life and generally to do with a specific person. The intricate way in which our energetic body is working at all times is unseen to the average human eye, however these built up feelings of resentment and anger carrying on in your pain-body for longer than necessary, oftentimes affect your life creating negative cycles of repetition, thus forming a habit and becoming a part of who you are.

Unconditional forgiveness doesn’t mean you need to accept the harm that has been placed on you, or the situation or pain someone has inflicted — but it IS accepting that the past has happened, nothing changes what has occurred and consciously choosing to begin again… choosing to claim back your energy.

As humans, we hardly ever take the time to forgive ourselves — suppressing feelings to the point that we are unsure of joy we are experiencing in the moment.

Do this forgiveness ritual to free yourself from past traumas, guilt, resentment and lingering feelings that no longer serve your highest and best. The way to integrate lessons and move forward is truly, to forgive which allows the space in your higher heart to express and experience joy.

What you will need: a candle, paper, pen and a fire safe bowl

  1. Find a quiet or sacred space and light a candle

  2. Take deep breaths in and out, every time you breathe out relax deeper and bring your energy focus to your heart centre.

  3. Set an intention to release all that no longer serves you and ask to cultivate unconditional forgiveness

  4. Write on the top of your page “I forgive myself for…”

  5. Hold your non-writing hand on your heart and allow yourself to fill the page with whatever comes out. Don’t overthink, write as much or as little you want — for as long as you want.

TIP: YOU MAY FIND THINGS COME UP FROM THE PAST OR YOUR CHILDHOOD THAT YOU DIDN’T REMEMBER PREVIOUSLY, ALLOW IT

6. Turn the page over and write “I forgive others for…”

7. Repeat step five

8. Fold the paper, place it in the candle then into your fireproof bowl and allow it to completely burn up

9. As you watch it burn, feel all of these memories, emotions and feelings leave you — fire is the most powerful element to use to release and disperse energy

TIP: USE THIS TIME TO DEEPLY BREATHE IN POSITIVE ENERGY AND BREATHE OUT STUCK, STAGNANT AND NEGATIVE ENERGY

10. Bring your energy and awareness back into your physical and practise a grounding technique (Earthing is easy — place your bare feet on the earth for 10 mins)

Use this ritual whenever you need.
